A stay
at the convent is of special interest to wine lovers.The six hectare
vineyard and modern winery produces the refreshing vinho verde "Quinta
da Franqueira". Piers Gallie is always pleased to show guests
round and explain how the wine is made.
The modern
winery begun in 1988 and finished in 1991 is designed to vinify 50,000L
of wine and is equipped to bottle and box all the wine.
